Hi Bri, how are you doing?
As I told you I went to Taroni Yard. Was rearly nice to visit the yard and talk with the daughter and her son of Taroni. She told me some historical stories about Taroni. The come originaly from Venecia. They produced Gondolas in those days. Then they went to Lago D'iseo and moved over to Lago Magiore. One of the daughter is also maried to one of the son from Riva. Rio, Riva and Taroni had good connections to each other. The all been involved in powerpoat racing. The son of taroni still raced till 2003. Then he quit because of the family.Taroni also had a productionline of Waterplains with an other company. Enclosed I send some pictures she showed me. I will ceep in contact with her to get some more informations from teh older days. Its quite interessting for me. The last Picture shows on of the FIAT Bosses when he did get married. He did buy the Boat from Taroni to drive over to Isola Bella.

Hi Bri, I used Material from the Company Sommerfeld & Thiele.
I used a panel thickness of 8mm
One side abt. 1,5 mm sliced cut Khaya Mahogany veneer with wooden stripes in distance 40:4:40 mm etc., inner plies Okoumé, backside sliced cut veneer, acc. EN 636-2, glueing AW 100 (W.B.P.)
http://www.sommerfeld-thiele.de/index.p ... 16&lang=de

I did varnish the innerside bevor I did glue and screwed on the panel. The Panel widnes is not inough so I add on the side with Epoxy Glue 8cm I did cut away from the rest wood when I cut out the curves.
One panel last me for the front and middle part. For the rear part I used veneer and 4mm stripes and glue it stips by stripes myself. The result is the same but makes more work. ;)

As Varnish I use the originals from Stoppani (from the Company "Lechner S.p.A. from Como" http://www.lechner.eu)

After sanding down to the original wood you put on 2-3 layer of "Pasta Mogano"(Not over the Khaya wood with Inlays!!!) (it looks like red :( , but after varnishing with Clear Varnish it gets a gold yellow read shine 8-) )
No Sanding after Pasta Mogano!!!

Then the first 8 layer of "Venice PU 910" clear varnish.
Sanding flat with 360 korn Paper
Then the next 8 layer of "Venice PU 910" clear varnish
Sanding again flat with 360 Paper
After that you have to put on 4 Layer VU stabilised Material "Glastop Clear U.V."
Normaly after that you can sand it down from 1000-2000-4000 korn and polish it afterwards. But I did not yet and will wait one or 2 seasons.

So if you like a can add more photos I made. As first I make a template for the front curves. So I can mill the right curves out later on for the inlay between Hkaya and Sapeli Mahogany.

I hope that will help you.

By the way...where a you located?
