Riva Olympic and Junior Engine Capacity?

Postby africantiger » Mon May 06, 2013 1:50 pm

Does anyone know the exact cubic capacity of the 190hp V8 Crusader in a Junior and the 270hp V8 Crusader in an Olympic.
Was the Junior 190hp-302 ? and the Olympic 270hp-302 or 350?
Thanks

The Riva 220 HP was a 327 cu in

The Riva 270 HP was a 350 cu in

Thanks, was wondering wether to rebuild these 2 engines I have or get new repower units from Crusader.
'Costs are about the same.
But they say new engines give 200hp for the Junior and 300hp for the Olympic.
Would increasing horsepower affect the running of the boats? Propellar?
Anyone can suggest?

Althought this is a late reply... the motors, especially the small block Chevrolet based motors, should be renewed.

If a thorough job of remanufacturing ALL of the components is done then the ease of use and originality will meet all expectations AND appear as original. Simply put, on the 180/190/220/270 Crusader engines and their big brothers the 320/350 Crusader engines, there is no reason to change to a modern motor.
