shaft rubber seal

hi im looking to find out where i can get a new rubber seal from the packing box to tube on a early riva single bpm engine

Bri;

It would be great to see some pictures of that early boat with the BPM engine.

If I understand you correctly you need "packing rope" for what we call a "stuffing box".

This is where the shaft passes through the keel (bottom) and the "Stuffing Nut" seals the shaft so water does not come in but the shaft stay lubricated with water.

This that what you are asking.

not good with computers but here goes

now the tube comes through the hull and the stuffing box slides into slots in the tube. to stop it turning thats where the rubber seal goes over tube and onto box il get photos tomorrow
